We studied at the Art Academy St. Joost in Breda from 1987 – 1992. (Nicole has also studied at the Teachers Education TEHATEX in Tilburg for three years) During this period we had bought our first Friesian stallion, the colt Oetse. Oetse gave us the inspiration to photograph, draw and paint horses, in particular Friesians. The portraits, the freelance work and the pictures are made in the studio behind the farm, with a beautiful view over the fields and our magnificent Friesian horses.
Our occupation can be split three ways:

Commissioned Portraits
As we prefer to see meet the horse(s), to get an idea of its character and presence, we will make an appointment with you at your stables. A photo shoot of your horse is made and then we will discuss with you which picture tells the story of your horse and its character best. When the picture is chosen Nicole can start painting. Consulting the owner, the painting technique (charcoal or oil paint), size and list are chosen.

* For foreign commissions:  Feel free to ask for the possibilities.

Free-Lance work
Besides the very refined, detailed portraits, Nicole also enjoys making more expressive, large drawings in chalk or oil pastel on paper.  With a quick, powerful hand she tries to convey the ‘power’ and beauty of the horse. There is always a small supply of this work at hand, but you can also order one specially tuned to your interior, one which has the right colour tone and size to suit your taste. This free-lance work is also ideal as a decoration for a reception area, office, restaurant or store. Transporting these works is also very simple as they can be sent by mail in a sturdy carton tube.

Our horse pictures are the favourite amongst buyers to buy as a present. Every year, right before Christmas, Nicole draws a unique picture which is sold in a limited edition and hand signed. The size is 30 x 40 cm and can be delivered through the post.

By now the series (a favourite amongst collectors) contains six pictures: Hengstenmanieren, De Begroeting, Sape, Lentesprongen, Pronkje en Zwanenhals. The “Hengstenmanieren” and “De Begroeting” have unfortunately been sold out.
